Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary: The Supply Chain Manager will have overall responsibility for the planning, purchasing, supplier management, and cost controls for Metron’s US operations. This is a hands-on, tactical management position with strategic influence supporting growth and efficiency. The role will focus on continuity of supply supported by the development, optimization, and ongoing maintenance of our ERP/MRP systems to enable data-driven supply chain execution and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities  

ERP/MRP System Development & Maintenance 

  • Maintain accurate purchasing data in Epicor and ensure the Materials and Logistics Manager has full visibility for efficient logistics planning. 
  • Support the use of dashboards to provide real-time visibility into incoming shipments and material availability for the operations team. 
  • Identify and implement ERP system improvements, enhancements, and integrations that increase supply chain visibility and operational efficiency. 
  • Run MRP to generate purchasing suggestions; analyze outputs, identify gaps, and communicate actionable recommendations to management. 
  • Develop, configure, and maintain ERP/MRP system parameters including parts, lead times, safety stock levels, reorder points, and supplier data to ensure accurate planning signals. 
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and internal champion for the Epicor ERP system, driving adoption, data integrity, and process alignment across the company. 

Planning & Purchasing 

  • Work within the S&OP process to fully understand primary product forecasts from the sales teams; contribute historical data to supplement forecasts as needed. 
  • Plan supply chain with built-in flexibility on purchasing and delivery commitments to allow Metron to push/pull orders, avoid excess inventory, and prevent stockouts. 
  • Optimize stock levels to minimize on-hand inventory while avoiding stockout situations. 
  • Support non-inventory requisitions and manage the ordering process for non-stock items with the sales team. 

Supplier Management & Cost Control 

  • Drive a structured approach to regularly improving costs and delivery terms; perform regular reviews on Purchase Price Variance (PPV) as a process indicator. 
  • Develop and maintain purchasing procedures including buyer credentials, supplier assignments, and purchasing signals. 
  • Work with legal on standardized supplier terms and conditions. 
  • Coordinate with the Materials and Logistics Manager and production teams to ensure shop floor supplies and consumables are adequately stocked. 

Cross-Functional Collaboration 

  • Lead, coach, and train team members on all supply chain processes and work instructions. 
  • Collaborate regularly with peers in logistics, warehouse, receiving, production, finance, and quality. 
  • Work with management to develop and implement strategies for risk mitigation, business continuity, and contingency planning across the supply chain. 
  • Partner with the New Product Introduction (NPI) team to ensure new products and parts are efficiently introduced, with sunset parts effectively run out to minimize inventory write-off. 
  • Work with the Material Review Board and materials teams to manage excess and obsolete stock. 
  • Collaborate with Finance to enable accurate financial reporting, including general ledger alignment. 

Process Improvement 

  • Leverage continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen) to drive process efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize supply chain operations. 
  • Document supply chain processes to ensure repeatability, scalability, knowledge transfer and conformance to an ISO 9001 quality system. 

  

Minimum Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field. (or 5 years equivalent experience) 
  • Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain operations, logistics, or materials management, with demonstrated success in purchasing, ERP/MRP system management, and cost reduction. 

 

Certifications (Preferred) 

  • APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) 

 

Additional Information  

  • Location: Boulder Metro Area, CO 
  • Employment Type: Full-time, 40+ hours a week 
  • Shift: Typical daytime hours   


Salary and Benefits  

  • Base Salary or Range: $110,000.00 to $140,000.00 USD
